MIFA vs Stalybridge Celtic FC Youth Team

MIFA beat a well organised Stalybridge Celtic FC Youth Team at Salford Sports Village 4-2. The game saw plenty of creative play from both teams with MIFA the more clinical in the end.

The first half saw MIFA retain possession for long periods of time allowing them the time to create and start attacking moves. The first goal came when Jetmir played a clever ball through the heart of the oppositions back line giving Moa Spindari enough time on the ball to pick out the far corner with a well driven shot, 1-0. The first also saw Stalybridge play so neat football which gave their centre forward two clear cut chances only for the MIFA keeper Elias Shawqi Abdulaal to make two smart stops. The half finished 1-0.

In the second half MIFA really imposed themselves in the game playing some great triangle football between Wilson, Jetmir and Gavin. With the team moving the ball so quickly, holes in Stalybridge's defence appeared allowing attacking chances going forward. It wasn't long before MIFA had their second goal and goal of the game, Jetmir delivered a brilliant diagonal ball to the right hand side to Spindari who drove in to the box at pace and took on three defenders before chopping backwards and turning in a tight space allowing half a yard to curl the ball in to the goal!

MIFA then went to sleep conceding two very sloppy goals within a couple of minutes, and with the game at 2-2 it needed yet another Spindari goal to give MIFA the lead. Another well waited ball from Jetmir into Spindari's path allowed him to chip the keeper from close range and complete a fantastic hat-trick.

The game was put to bed when more good play through midfield saw Alex Wilson make a great forward run in to the box and was picked out by Spindari, with a cool side footed finish the game was 4-2 in MIFA's favour.

A tough game for MIFA but the well organised side proved too strong I'm the closing stages of the match, well done to both teams and good luck to Stalybridge Celtic who play in the FA Youth Cup in the coming weeks.
